Readings, Lectures & Performances
Pit Pinegar has read from her work, lectured on a variety of subjects, and
performed in hundreds of venues.
She has read from her work at schools, colleges & universities, libraries,
bookstores, museums, and galleries, as well as on radio and television. She
was a featured reader in the
Sunken
Garden Poetry Festival’s first season, in 1992, and again in its 10th
season, during the summer of 2001.
She lectures widely about living a creative life, many aspects of writing,
the challenges of having a child with
Attention Deficit
Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and her experience of living in Saudi
Arabia.
In 1996, in response to an invitation to audition for a festival of
one-woman shows in New York City (Womankind VI), Pinegar developed a
monologue—All Available Space—about a woman struggling for space and sanity
in a life usurped by a child with ADHD. She continues to use the monologue
in programs she does with schools and parent groups about the challenges of
dealing with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
